MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Division, has announced the addition of an EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) AOP (Add-On Profile) for its R-Series Ethernet/IP linear position sensors, making it even easier to add devices to a network. An AOP is an RSLogix (Logix Designer) component used to configure modules on a network. An EDS contains configuration data for a specific type of device and is provided by the device supplier as part of the ODVA standards compliance.

Cary, N.C. (October 17, 2012) – MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Division has introduced a new detached electronics housing system for use with Temposonics® G-Series Sensors. G-Series sensors offer backward compatibility for use in retrofitting equipment designed around legacy sensors from MTS. By remotely mounting the sensor electronics, users can remove the electronic components away from harsh environments where they may be affected by temperature, shock, vibration or other conditions, without impacting the performance of the sensor.
